Oestrogel

Oestrogel is a transdermal oestrogen gel that delivers body-identical estradiol through the skin to relieve the symptoms of perimenopause and menopause. It is clear, scent-free, and absorbed quickly through the skin into the bloodstream, bypassing the liver and digestive system entirely. Oestrogel is suitable for perimenopausal and postmenopausal women experiencing systemic menopause symptoms, and must be used alongside a progestogen by women who have a uterus.

What is Oestrogel?

Oestrogel is a transdermal oestrogen gel containing estradiol. It is a body-identical form of oestrogen with the same chemical structure as the oestrogen naturally produced by your ovaries. Applied to the skin once daily, it is absorbed directly into the bloodstream, providing stable, consistent hormone levels throughout the day. Each pump delivers 0.75mg of estradiol in 1.25g of gel, and the dose can be flexibly adjusted between one and four pumps depending on your symptoms and clinical guidance. Oestrogel is a well-established and widely used form of HRT, offering a convenient, discreet alternative to patches and oral tablets.

Benefits of Oestrogel

Oestrogel delivers systemic oestrogen replacement to address the full range of menopause symptoms. Many women begin to notice improvements — particularly in hot flushes, sleep, and mood — within days to weeks of starting, with full benefits typically seen within three months of consistent use. A Phase III randomised controlled trial found that transdermal estradiol gel produced statistically significant reductions in hot flush frequency and severity from as early as weeks three to five, alongside significant improvements in vaginal atrophy symptoms at 12 weeks.

Symptoms this treatment addresses:

  • Hot flushes and night sweats
  • Sleep disturbance and fatigue
  • Low mood, anxiety, or irritability
  • Brain fog and difficulty concentrating
  • Reduced libido
  • Vaginal dryness
  • Joint aches and muscle discomfort
  • Bone health support when started around the time of menopause
1 Steady hormone delivery
2 Bypasses the digestive system
3 No first-pass liver metabolism
4 Lower cardiovascular risk than oral oestrogen
5 Flexible dosing
6 Discreet and convenient
