What is Gepretix?
Gepretix is a body-identical progesterone used in hormone replacement therapy (HRT) for individuals who still have a womb. It is made from plant sources and is chemically identical to the progesterone your body naturally produces. When you take oestrogen as part of HRT, it can cause the lining of the womb (endometrium) to thicken. Gepretix balances this effect, helping to keep the lining healthy and reducing the risk of endometrial cancer.
Gepretix is usually prescribed alongside oestrogen in either a cyclical (monthly) or continuous (daily) regimen, depending on your stage of menopause. If you've had a hysterectomy, you typically won't need it.
Benefits of Gepretix
Gepretix does not relieve menopause symptoms directly, that is the role of oestrogen. Its job is to protect your womb lining, making combined HRT safe for women who still have their uterus.
When oestrogen levels rise with HRT, the womb lining can gradually thicken, which over time increases the risk of womb cancer. Gepretix prevents this, keeping the lining thin and healthy. It contains the same active ingredient as Utrogestan (micronised progesterone) and is considered clinically equivalent, the main difference is that Gepretix is often more cost-effective.
How to use Gepretix

Side effects of Gepretix
As with all HRT, some women experience adjustment symptoms during the first weeks as the body adapts to a new hormone level.
