Choosing a weight loss medication provider is a personal decision. Here's how Voy compares to Hims’s offering.

Comparison

Choosing a weight loss provider is a big decision, and there are more options to choose from than ever. Voy has been treating patients in the UK with GLP-1 medications since 2023, with a programme built around medication, ongoing support, and a community that helps people stick with it. Now treating patients across the UK, Germany, Brazil, and India, it's regularly one of the highest-rated weight loss providers in the UK on Trustpilot.

Hims is a newer name in UK weight loss, though the brand has been established in the US for years. It launched its UK weight loss programme in December 2025, backed by Hims & Hers, a large, publicly listed company with operations across the US, Europe, and Canada.

If you're comparing Hims vs Voy, here's an honest look at how they differ: how you're supported, who can access treatment, what medications are available, and what it actually costs.

Hims is a men's weight loss platform. Women are directed to Hers, the separate women's platform from the same company.

What is Voy?

Voy is a UK weight loss provider, treating patients since 2023. More than 100,000 people in the UK have used the service so far, with a programme built around what the evidence shows actually works long term: medication paired with proper clinical support and a community that keeps people going.

Voy's process is fully online. You complete an online assessment, which is reviewed by a UK registered clinician who decides whether treatment is appropriate. If eligible, you receive your first order with a rescue pack included, and ongoing clinical support, coaching, and community access throughout your treatment.

What's included with Voy:

What is Hims?

Hims is the men's health platform from the US company Hims & Hers. It brought its comprehensive Weight Loss Programme to the UK in December 2025, building on an existing UK presence in men's health conditions like hair loss and erectile dysfunction.

Hims describes the process in four steps. You complete a fully online medical intake covering your health history, lifestyle, and goals. A clinician then reviews it and decides what's appropriate for you. If you're eligible, you get a treatment plan. From there, you have ongoing access to follow-ups, dose adjustments, and support whenever you need it. Hims says its care team includes UK-registered clinicians, pharmacists, and patient care advisors.

What's included with Hims:

  • An online medical intake assessed by a UK-registered clinician
  • Treatment options that may include Mounjaro, Wegovy, or Orlos, depending on eligibility
  • A weight tracking app with nutrition and lifestyle content
  • Unlimited online access to your care team for follow-ups and questions
  • The ability to adjust treatment, change medication, or step down to a lower strength dose at any time, in partnership with a clinician

Key differences between Hims and Voy

1. Support

The clearest difference between Hims and Voy is support. Voy offers dedicated channels for different types of query. Hims offers messaging only, with no phone line and no published response times.

Digestive side effects like nausea, vomiting, and diarrhoea are common on GLP-1 treatment. They usually settle as your body gets used to the medication and dose, but sometimes they need a bit more help to manage. That's when quick access to a clinician makes a real difference.

Voy offers:

  • A side-effect hotline, 9am–5pm Monday to Friday, where you can speak to a registered clinician within minutes to adjust your dose, get short-term relief, or get lifestyle advice
  • A rescue pack for sickness and diarrhoea included with every first order
  • Customer support chat, 8am–8pm every day, for general queries
  • A separate clinical team live chat, also 8am–8pm every day, for questions about your treatment and dosing

Hims offers:

  • Messaging to patient support or a clinician at any time
  • Responses promised "as soon as possible," with no published timeframe
  • No dedicated phone line

2. Who can access treatment

Voy may be able to help from a BMI of 25, after a full clinical assessment. This is off-label, meaning it falls outside the medication's licensed criteria. Off-label prescribing is common and legal in the UK, and widely used on the NHS. The evidence supports it: health risks like high blood pressure and type 2 diabetes start rising well before BMI 30.

Every case at Voy goes through individual clinical review, live photo verification, and ongoing weight monitoring, and treatment is paused if BMI drops below a safe level.

Hims doesn't publish specific eligibility criteria. A clinician reviews each case based on your questionnaire responses, but there are no published thresholds to check before you start.

Check your eligibility with Voy to find out if treatment could be right for you.

3. Medications available

Both providers offer Mounjaro, Wegovy injections, and Orlos. Voy also offers the Wegovy pill (oral semaglutide).

4. Pricing

Hims's pricing stays flat across a few doses before jumping to a higher tier. Mounjaro, for example, is the same price from 2.5mg to 7.5mg, then increases from 10mg. Voy's pricing increases at every dose step instead, though you're never forced to keep titrating up. If a lower dose is working well for you, you can choose to stay there, which also keeps your price lower. Both providers offer a discount on your first month.

Multi-month plans are also available with both. Voy's run monthly, or in 3, 6, and 12-month plans, with longer plans working out cheaper per month.

Orlos is the clearest gap between the two: Voy charges £25 for your first month and £80/month after that, against Hims's £129/month, with no lower introductory rate shown.

5. App and tools

Both Hims and Voy have a weight loss app, but the depth of support differs.

The Hims app includes weight tracking and nutrition and lifestyle content. Hims says it offers unlimited access to clinical support and ongoing tools to help you along the way.

The Voy app goes further: injection logging, a nutrition and tips hub, a side-effect log, live talks on nutrition, movement, mindset, and plateaus, and Joy, an AI coach available around the clock. A peer-reviewed study of 126,553 Voy patients found that engaged users, meaning those who used the app, attended coaching, and tracked their weight, were nearly three times more likely to lose 20% or more of their body weight than non-engaged users on the same medication.

6. Community

Weight loss is easier to stick with when you're not doing it alone. Voy members get access to a private community where they can share progress, swap recipes, and get peer support from others on the same journey, alongside the clinical care they're already getting. Hims doesn't currently offer anything similar, so support there is limited to the care team itself.

7. Reviews and track record

Voy holds 4.7/5 from over 21,000 Trustpilot reviews. Hims holds 3.0/5 on Trustpilot. Hims also shows a self-reported 4.5/5 on its own website, but this isn't via Trustpilot and isn't directly comparable.

Hims & Hers reports more than 2.5 million subscribers globally across all categories and platforms. The company itself notes that only a small minority of those subscribers use it for weight loss.

Voy has changed over 1.5 million lives worldwide, with more than 100,000 UK weight loss members. Voy's clinical work has produced 28 published papers, backed by partnerships with 8 university partners including Imperial College London.
