Without deliberate action, the most significant clinical advance in obesity treatment in a generation risks deepening the very inequalities it has the potential to close.
We commissioned Future Health Research to examine the evidence, identify where the rollout is going wrong, and set out what needs to change. The white paper draws on real-world data from more than 100,000 people, including Voy's own peer-reviewed outcomes, alongside Morelife's 25 years of community-based delivery reaching the populations that standard NHS pathways have historically struggled to engage.
The conclusion is that this outcome is avoidable. The clinical tools, the digital infrastructure and the community delivery models needed to reach underserved populations all exist. What's needed now is the commissioning architecture to bring them together.
