When Amie joined Voy at 20 stone 1lb, she couldn’t have imagined where she’d be months later. Not just physically, but mentally too.
Joining Voy helped her understand her eating habits, rebuild her confidence and finally feel supported enough to tackle her weight for good.

Held back by food and fear
Before joining Voy, Amie describes her relationship with food as chaotic. Takeaways were a near-daily habit, sometimes costing hundreds of pounds a month. She tried calorie deficits, home workouts and regular gym sessions, but nothing felt sustainable. The gym often left her feeling uncomfortable and out of place.
At work, the impact went deeper. Amie’s role in traffic management is part office-based, part on-site. Being visible — meeting customers, speaking on calls, attending big meetings — made her painfully aware of her size.
“There were days I’d call in sick just to avoid meetings,” she says. And even though she was capable and good at her job, her confidence was holding her back.
Timing was everything
Amie first heard about Voy through a close friend and watched her journey from the sidelines for almost a year. She considered it seriously, even signed up, but didn’t start straight away.
“I wish I’d begun sooner,” she admits. “But I wasn’t mentally ready.”
That changed after a night out with friends, when something clicked. She realised she’d had enough of feeling stuck and decided it was time to try a different approach.
A quieter change than expected
Amie expected the early days to feel overwhelming. Instead, what surprised her most was the mental shift.
Almost immediately, the constant “food noise” she’d lived with for years faded. She still thought about food, but without the urgency, guilt or obsession that had driven her before.
Cravings eased. Foods she once relied on lost their pull. Alcohol, once part of every social plan, stopped appealing altogether. Instead, she found herself enjoying shopping trips, walks and socialising with friends in new ways.
In the first few months, the changes came quickly and taught her an important lesson. “I realised I wasn’t eating enough. Now it’s about balance, not restriction.”

Life-changing confidence
As Amie’s body changed, so did her sense of possibility.
Amie had always been happy going to work and coming home, but now, new ambitions started to surface. She saw a future she’d never pictured for herself before, one that involved building a business, creating a gymwear brand and growing her presence online.
This confidence spilled into unexpected places. She started sharing her journey on social media, building a supportive community of thousands. She sang on a livestream. She reconnected with parts of herself she’d put aside years ago, including a love of dancing.
Life feels lighter
Today, Amie has lost over six stone thanks to Voy’s medicated weight loss programme. But she’s clear that the biggest win isn’t purely physical.
For years, she was in an unhappy relationship and felt deeply lacking in self-belief. Over time, that’s changed. Slowly, consistently and in ways that show up in everyday life.
Amie now wears clothes she enjoys instead of hiding in baggy layers. She’s working towards becoming self-sufficient as a content creator. She’s planning a trip abroad to celebrate her best friend’s wedding, something she once wouldn’t have felt comfortable doing.
