Programme structure
A 12-week adapted programme with longer, smaller sessions, Easy Read materials throughout, and carers welcome as full participants.
What's inside
Adapted nutrition and activity content built with specialist LD dietitians and carers. The SMI pathway adds metabolic monitoring, medication side-effect management and supported behaviour change.
How it's delivered
Community venues chosen for accessibility, one-to-one where group settings don't fit, with picture-based and Easy Read materials as standard.
Who delivers it
Specialist LD dietitians, practitioners trained in supported decision-making, and — by design — the carers who know the person best.

Frequently asked questions
Yes — carers are part of the programme, not visitors to it.
It works alongside mental health care: monitoring the metabolic effects of medication, managing side-effects, and never asking anyone to choose between mental health and physical health.
Maintenance support: the app, drop-ins, and check-ins. Weight management is a long game and we don't disappear at week 12.
