Vagirux
Vagirux
Vagirux is a low-dose vaginal oestrogen tablet used to relieve the genitourinary symptoms of menopause, including vaginal dryness, soreness, and urinary symptoms. It contains 10 micrograms of body-identical estradiol and is inserted directly into the vagina using a disposable applicator. Vagirux is suitable for postmenopausal women experiencing genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM), whether or not they are also using systemic HRT.

What is Vagirux?
Vagirux is a low-dose vaginal oestrogen therapy delivered via a small dissolvable tablet inserted directly into the vagina using a disposable applicator. It is designed to relieve vaginal atrophy, a common condition caused by declining oestrogen levels during menopause, which leads to thinning, dryness, and increased fragility of the vaginal tissues. By delivering estradiol locally, it helps relieve symptoms such as irritation, discomfort, and urinary changes, with minimal absorption into the bloodstream. It is used daily for the first two weeks, then twice weekly on an ongoing basis.
Benefits of Vagirux
Vagirux provides direct, targeted relief for the genitourinary symptoms of menopause. These symptoms are common, often progressive, and frequently undertreated. Unlike systemic HRT, its benefits are focused precisely on the vaginal and urethral tissues. Many women notice improvements in vaginal comfort within two to four weeks of consistent use, with tissue health continuing to improve over the following months. In addition to physical relief, many women find Vagirux helps restore confidence, comfort, and intimacy. A randomised controlled trial found statistically significant improvements in vaginal cytology, pH, and most bothersome urogenital symptoms after 12 weeks of treatment with estradiol 10mcg vaginal tablets.
